"Thanks, Kurg, but I'm not sure it'd be such a good idea." He didn't know exactly what was wrong with it, except that -- unreasonably -- he felt like it would give the wrong message. Moving in with an old lover to avoid his Master....
He hadn't told anyone why he was moving. If he moved in with Kurg everyone would assume they'd resumed their old relationship. He didn't want Qui-Gon thinking -- what? That he was unavailable?
Obi-Wan laughed at himself. Fortunately Kurg was nodding. "That's OK. I just wanted you to know you could. I don't have any designs on you anymore," he added, smiling. "But you are welcome."
"Thanks, Kurg. I appreciate it."
"So, what are you going to do?" he asked again, after a moment.
Obi-Wan sighed. "What do Jedi always do?"
"You're going to go meditate?"
"I might as well. The Quartermaster won't have anything set up for a few hours anyhow, even if my Master gives his permission right away." It was the middle of the afternoon, and chances were he wouldn't get a room assignment until the next day. Perhaps he should ask to stay the night with Kurg....
He shook his head, and decided to go find someplace quiet. He'd sent in his request after having decided it was the only reasonable choice. But, perhaps....
Or maybe meditation was just a good way to avoid thinking about it, or anything else, for awhile.
