Although he opened his mouth to wake Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon closed it without speaking. For a reason he couldn't explain, he lacked the heart to wake the slumbering apprentice.

Taking a step back, he watched the rise and fall of Obi-Wan's chest for several moments. He was unsure what to do, whether to remain in the darkened room or return to his own quarters.

The play of moonlight across Obi-Wan's face made the decision for him, as he found himself unable to leave. He released the breath he had been holding, not taking his eyes from his Padawan.

He jumped slightly when he heard a soft noise. Qui-Gon turned to see Bant sitting half up in the bed, watching him as he was watching Obi-Wan.

The Jedi had to force himself not to blink under her penetrating gaze. He felt a wave of relief wash over him when she smiled and nodded. At his questioning look she stood and walked over to him.

"You need to tell him, what you've just shown me," she whispered low enough that Obi-Wan couldn't hear.

When started to reply, she silenced him with a shake of her head. "You know what I mean. Tell him."

"Tell him what?" Obi-Wan asked sleepily from the bed. Qui-Gon and Bant turned to see Obi-Wan looked at them through drowsy eyes. When neither replied, he persisted. "Well?"

Bant looked at Qui-Gon and nodded, before saying to Obi-Wan. "I'll be in the main room."

After she left, Obi-Wan looked at his Master. "I'm sorry I didn't let you know where I was," Obi-Wan replied automatically.

Qui-Gon shook his head. He cleared his throat before saying, "That's all right. Bant sent a message."

Obi-Wan nodded, making a mental note to thank his friend for yet another favor. "What did she want you to tell me?"

The Jedi Master hesitated before replying.

Admit he knows what Obi-Wan is feeling.

Admit he feels the same.
