After meditating a little while longer, Obi-Wan stood and walked out of the meditation room. The hallway that connected to the room was empty, and Obi-Wan found himself glad for the small favor. He turned left without thinking, and continued walking near aimlessly.

He held his head up, staring straight ahead. Although his meditations had allowed him some acceptance of the situation, he still off center somehow.

As he walked, Obi-Wan paid little attention to where he was going or the few people that met him along the way. As a result, he jumped when he felt a hand on his arm.

"Obi?" a familiar voice asked, and he found himself staring into large, dark eyes.

Obi-Wan nodded, not quite managing to force a smile. "Hi Bant."

His friend regarded him silently for a moment. They had been friends for so many years it was easy for him to read the concern that she felt. "Something's happened."

He shook his head, glancing around the increasingly crowded hallway. He was in the last place he wanted to be for this discussion.

Bant blinked. Following his distracted glance, she nodded. "Yes it has, and you need to talk about it, but not here."

A rush of air left Obi-Wan's lungs. Talking to Bant could be exactly what he needed. "Thank you," he replied quietly.

His friend smiled. "For you," she said, squeezing his arm, "anytime." She thought for a moment. "The dining hall or my quarters?"

Obi-Wan's stomach turned at the thought of food, and he was likely to run into Qui-Gon in the dining hall. Yet he had already spent much of the day secluded in the meditation room. For the moment he weighed his two options.

Go to the dining hall.

Go to Bant's quarters.
