Shaking his head, Obi-Wan resisted the press of the Force. What was going on here?
The Senator turned to look at him again, eyebrows raised. "Well, you are a strong one, aren't you?" He shrugged slightly. "All right then, stay here if you want."
Still feeling dizzy, Obi-Wan sat down in the co-pilots chair. "Where are we going?"
The Senator chuckled softly and something about his laugh made the tiny hairs on the back of Obi-Wan's neck prickle.
"Let me tell you something, my little would-be Jedi. Shall I?" And now they were descending, landing on an unfamiliar platform. "The Jedi are fools. All the power in the Universe is within their grasps and they refuse to take it."
The Senator voice seemed to be invading Obi-Wan's mind and he shook his head. But it was still there, the silken tones oozing into his ears as the older man spoke.
"But I know the truth, my young one," Palpatine said softly, and he seemed to be watching Obi-Wan intently. "I already have an apprentice, but I could use someone as strong and young as you are. I can give you power and strength. Anything that you ever wanted could be yours."
"Join me," the Senator whispered persuasively. "Come with me."
Strangely confused, Obi-Wan swayed, trying to decide what to do.
Obi-Wan joins him.
