"All right, if you say so," Obi-Wan agreed. What did it matter who trained him as long as he got what he wanted?
Palpatine opened the door and someone walked in. Eyes widening in shock, Obi-Wan stared at his new teacher.
"Train you, I will. One of us, you will become." Master Yoda waddled over to him and laid a hand on Obi-Wan knee. There was something in Yoda's eyes that, as many times as he had seen Yoda before, Obi-Wan had never recognized: a calculating gleam in them as he studied his new apprentice.
"Yes, Master," Obi-Wan whispered, sinking to knees before his master. He could hear Palpatine and Yoda laughing, a harsh reverberation of sound that echoed through the room. And Obi-Wan knelt there, waiting for his training to begin.
